Siyu Fort

Siyu Fort build in the 19th Century by the local Swahili people of Siyu as a strong hold to fend of external attacks. It is one of a kind, unique architecture constructed by local Swahili people of Pate Island. Oral tradition indicates that the fort was build by one of Siyu's leaders 'Bwana Mataka' Ishak. Siyu Fort is one of Kenya National Monuments worth visiting to have first hand 19th century history.
