It is the first chartered private and only university in Kapsabet county earlier known as Kapsabet District. The institution has not only imparted knowledge but created employment to the local community. It has transformed the community. One of the key needs was water which the institution, through its students have constructed boreholes and supplied water to the community. Kapsabet county is a tea growing area, you will come across large tea farms. Through it’s agricultural program the institution has helped to improve and impart knew modern techniques in crop production. Tea farm The literacy level within the community has been impacted positively by the presence of the institution. The famous athletes the likes of Eliud Kipchoge and many others, do train at the university. It is one of the training grounds for many athletes who have made their mark in international championships i.e Olympics, World Athletics Championship and Marathons.
