Gede Ruins

Gede Ruins is a historic and a UNESCO world heritage site. It was built in the 12century and rebuilt in 15-16th centuries. It was a wealthy metropolis a long the Indian Ocean trade roots. Artifacts have been found in the site including the Ming Dynasty porcelain,Indian beads and Persian glassware. It had a population 2,500 and the had sophiscated infrastructure i.e flashing toilets and running water.National museums of Kenya
