Old Lamu Towm

One of the oldest (Lamu) continuously inhabited Swahili settlements, this UNESCO-listed town has buildings dating back over 700 years. It is famous for intricately carved wooden doors and coral-stone architecture.
The old town of Lamu shows swahili building designs refined over centuries practices of exchange between Africans, Persians, Indians and Arabs.
